The name of Falanghina probably derives from the use of the poles called "phalanx" which since ancient times were used to support the vines. Despite having written records only from the mid-nineteenth century, experts say it is a contemporary grape variety compared to Fiano and Greco, which instead date back to the first century BC.
VINEYARD AND SOIL: The Apice estate is found mainly on a medium-textured and rich in skeleton soil with an exposure mainly to South-East and an average altitude of 350 m.s.l.m.
PERIOD AND COLLECTION SYSTEM: End of September. Manual collection.
VINIFICATION AND AGING: Classic white vinification in steel tanks at a controlled temperature.
Organoleptic characteristics: Straw yellow with greenish reflections. On the nose Fresh and fruity with marked notes of citrus fruits, tropical fruits, peach, banana and white flowers. In the mouth, of great freshness and persistence, with a pleasant fruity aftertaste.
Food matches: Fish and shellfish, grilled and baked white fish.
Serve at the ideal temperature of 12 ° - 14 ° C.
