Fiano is a vine with ancient origins dating back to Roman times, a period in which this grape was known as Vitis Apiana due to the sweetness of its grapes, so much appreciated by bees. After the difficult period of the Sixties, in which he risked losing the ancient provincial viticultural heritage, the stubborn action of Antonio Mastroberardino brought Fiano back among the most cultivated vines of the province of Avellino, arousing interest in cultivation even outside the region .
VINEYARD AND SOIL: The Manocalzati and Montefalcione estates are found mainly on medium-textured and loose soils with an average of 400 m.s.l.m.
PERIOD AND HARVEST SYSTEM: First ten days of October. Manual collection.
VINIFICATION AND AGING: Classic white vinification in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Bottle aging at least 1 month.
Organoleptic characteristics: Straw yellow color. Delicate on the nose, with hints of fresh fruit, almond, hazelnut, white flowers, citrus fruits, aromatic herbs and dried flowers. In the mouth, delicate, full-bodied, with obvious floral notes.
Food matches: fresh cheeses, buffalo mozzarella.
Dishes based on legumes, seafood, and fish sauces. White meats, shellfish, salmon, tuna.
Serve at the ideal temperature of 12-14 ° C.
