It has a typical pear or flask shape and is matured for several weeks or months, depending on the desired level of flavor. Its flavor varies from sweet and delicate when young, to becoming more intense and tasty as it ages. It has a firm and elastic consistency and a characteristic aroma. The 500 gram Caciocavallo Silano DOP, in slices, is ideal for enjoying in slices as an appetizer, or grated on hot dishes such as pasta or soups.
